Nutrition Logging

mojo lets you log your daily meals and track calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat — helping you maintain a balanced diet while on GLP-1 medication.

What Gets Logged

Each nutrition entry includes:

  • Meal type — Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack
  • Food name (optional)
  • Calories (kcal)
  • Protein (g)
  • Carbohydrates (g)
  • Fat (g)

The easiest way to log your meals. mojo includes a built-in AI logging tool — take a photo of your food, let AI identify the items, estimate portions, and calculate nutrients, then import everything into mojo in one tap.

How It Works

  1. Open the nutrition page and scroll down to the “Logging Tools” section
  2. Tap one of the AI services (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google, Grok)
  3. mojo opens the AI service with the analysis prompt pre-filled
  4. Upload a photo of your meal in the AI service
  5. Once the AI finishes, tap the “Import to Mojo” link in the output
  6. mojo opens with calories, protein, carbs, and fat already filled in
  7. Review and tap “Save”

Copy Full Prompt

If you prefer a different AI tool (e.g., Claude, Gemini), tap “Copy Full Prompt” to get a more detailed analysis prompt you can paste into any AI service.

AI logging is currently free for all users. Starting May 1, 2026, it will become an exclusive feature of the mojo Friend Plan.

Add a Meal Manually

  1. Go to the “Today” tab
  2. Tap any nutrition card (calories, protein, carbs, or fat)
  3. Tap ”+” to add a new entry
  4. Enter the meal type, calories, and other nutrients
  5. Tap “Save”

You can also backfill past days by using the date switcher to navigate to a previous date before adding a record.

Auto-Sync via Apple Health (iOS)

iOS users can log food in any Apple Health-compatible app (e.g., MyFitnessPal, Calory), and mojo will automatically read that data — no double entry needed.

Synced records are labeled “Apple Health”; manually entered records are labeled “Manual.” Both can coexist on the same day.

Auto-Sync via Health Connect (Android)

Android users can use any Health Connect-compatible food logging app. mojo syncs the daily totals for calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat.

How Your Calorie Target Is Calculated

mojo automatically calculates your recommended daily calorie target based on your personal profile. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Calculate Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

BMR represents the minimum calories your body needs at complete rest to sustain basic life functions. mojo uses the Mifflin-St Jeor formula, based on your weight, height, age, and sex.

Step 2: Determine Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)

TDEE is the total calories you actually burn throughout the day, including physical activity.

  • Connected to Apple Health or Health Connect: mojo uses the real energy expenditure data from your health platform
  • Not connected: mojo estimates TDEE by multiplying your BMR by the activity level you selected in settings

Step 3: Apply Your Calorie Deficit

Based on the weekly weight loss rate you set, mojo calculates how many fewer calories you should consume each day.

Losing 1 kg of body weight requires roughly a 7,700 kcal deficit.

Step 4: Enforce a Safety Floor

Your final calorie target will never go below your BMR + 100 kcal. This safety buffer ensures your body has enough energy to maintain basic physiological functions.

In short: Target calories = TDEE − daily deficit, but never less than BMR + 100 kcal.

High Protein Days

When mojo detects that you did a strength training workout, or your active energy burned reaches 250 kcal or more, it automatically switches to “High Protein Day” mode — increasing your recommended protein intake to support muscle recovery and maintenance.

Daily Progress Tracking

The nutrition section on the Today tab shows your running totals for the day:

  • Calories (kcal)
  • Protein (g)
  • Carbohydrates (g)
  • Fat (g)

Each value has a progress bar comparing it against the daily targets you set in Goal Setting.

How Your Data Is Used

  • The past 13 days of nutrition data are included in AI report analysis for more personalized recommendations
  • You can view, edit, or delete individual records by date in Data Management
  • Nutrition records are included in backups and can be restored across platforms
